Archer and Amelia – Illustrated

Recently, I commissioned my pal and Crows on Heartstrings contributor, Katarzyna “PannaN” Witerscheim, to illustrate my children original characters, Archer and Amelia.

I am so blown away with how these two came out and can’t wait to bother her for the rest of the characters in the series.

Please check out PannaN’s work here: pannan-art.tumblr.com

If you like this, check out the Crows on Heartstrings tab on the menu, she’s contributing an illustration of one of the most harrowing short stories, Sweet Captivity, by Alexis Brown. AND She will be contributing her own original comic!

New Art- Faust

I was talking to Cara and ended up making a cool thing happen to my character, Faust. It’s a long story but if you’ve ever played Dragon Age, he has a Red Lyrium-like crystalline abscess over his eye. He’s also now got one demon black eye and one angel galaxy eye.

I used this photo of FC Mac Krieger as reference for this image. If you know the photographer, please put it in the comments so I can credit them!

Abomination Boys

Series of illustrations of my original characters, Faust, Lucien, and Malachi, otherwise known as the Abomination Boys

Alban, Illustrated

Alban sm

This is Alban, and here’s his introductory snippet from my manuscript!

“Ready to go, is all.  All right, Alban?” He didn’t hear me. “Hey bruv, tout va bien?”
Alban flicks his thick spindly blonde streaked hair from his eyes in a whiplash inducing swoop and looks up from his slender mobile.  His hair is much more tightly curled than mine.  You probably would never guess that he’s my cousin, or even related to me, if you looked at him.  It’s because his father is pure ebony. He’s a smartly dressed, regal looking Nigerien-Frenchman.  Alban, being the gorgeous biracial baby he is, has skin like a damn mochachino and the Cavendish blues glowing in his eye sockets.  When he wears his perfectly wiry curls just past his collar bones, he doesn’t look like a bum, he fucking looks regal. It helps that he’s nearly always dressed in crisp button up shirts and pressed trousers. He’s just about the only one of us who is exactly who you would expect when you hear that we’re all sitting on mountainous trust funds, if mine even exists.

Warwick, Illustrated!

…. *drools*  Aegisdea did this gorgeous picture of my sexy man and Archer’s best friend, Warwick Davenport.

Here’s a little snippet from my book, it’s just a little bit explaining his tattoos 😀

“Oooh, Mummy! Tell me how handsome I look too!” He throws his head back and shakes it out, letting the wispy, ultra blonde hair play about his face.
“You’re beautiful, honey.” Kath gives him a squeeze and adds “I quite like these tattoos, maybe we shouldn’t show your father yet. Archer, have you seen these?”
Warwick pulls up the hem of his jumper. There’s a row of bird silhouettes freshly tattooed with throbbing pink edges into the pale gold skin on the side of his boney ribcage.
“Now the bird’s nest over your heart really makes sense.”  I like that Warwick’s mum knows everything about him. She knows that he can’t find a girl because he keeps comparing every relationship he skates around to his mother father’s relationship and ends them all before they can begin. He does it only because no one is ever good enough.  Kath knows that he has tattoos curling around his torso and arms, but most of them mean something that remind him of his family.  She knows that he smokes pot, and sometimes pops a few pills if there’s a good party, but he would never shoot up drugs. She knows, and that’s it.  Even his father knows, well most things, he’s not so in love with Warwick’s shoulder length hair, or the tattoos, but he knows just the same. No one asks Warwick to change. They just look at him and think, Well, this is who you are. Sure, he’s been lectured about drugs and safety, but they just accept him. This is who he is, and it’s okay.
“Now I’ve a tattoo for each of my siblings. All the birds in a row, this here crown…” Warwick pulls his arm out of his floppy, half unbuttoned flannel shirt so I can admire the black and red crown he has circling around his bicep. “…for Eldridge, and this here arrow…” This lunatic is now just collecting tattoos to be hip. I know it. He takes his other arm out of his sleeve and on the back of his upper arm is a long and thin archaic silhouette of an arrow running from his shoulder to his elbow. “…is for the brother I should have had.”

Amelia, Illustrated!

She did it again! aegisdea made me another amazing Character Portrait, this time for Amelia. ❤ ❤ ❤

“You know what Archer? I know you mean well and all that jazz, but I mean it. I don’t want to be fixed. And you’re just going to stand there and look so annoyingly unsmug and tell me, oh but Amelia you’ll be happier if you get help, you won’t worry so much, you’ll be able to do so much more, well you know what? I don’t want to do more. I like being nervous and obsessive and compulsive. I don’t know who I’d be without this disorder and I think I’d just be … bad. Straight up, bad. I want to be myself and be afraid of things that have consequences. I don’t want to be carefree all the time. This is who I am and I like it. If you don’t that’s your problem. Just stop trying to fix me, man!”

So that’s a little snippet from Amelia. I’m not sure if it will make it into the book, but she’ll say something like this one way or another 😀 Amelia is another original character from my manuscript, Archer and the Lust Boys
